About Trio Travel

Vickie Rauner became the owner of Trio Travel in November of 2003. Trio Travel has been locally owned and operated for over 20 years. Vickie returned to Wayne from Lincoln in March of 2003. She graduated from Wayne High School in 1988, and from Spencer School of Business in Grand Island in 1989 with an Associate’s Degree in Travel and Tourism Management. She then moved to Lincoln where she was employed by Ameritas Life Insurance Corp. for 8 ½ years as their Corporate Travel Specialist, supervising their travel services department along with two employees. In addition to booking air, hotel, car and Amtrak reservations, she also analyzed travel management reports, coordinated the company’s airplane schedule, and negotiated air, hotel and car discounts for both individual and group incentive travel. She also planned and coordinated the company’s smaller meetings. After leaving Ameritas, she was employed by AAA Nebraska for 1 ½ years as a corporate agent/travel counselor. In April 2001, she became employed by Landscapes Unlimited, a golf course development company based in Lincoln, NE as their Travel Coordinator, where her duties are similar to those she had at Ameritas. In addition to booking all their air, hotel, car and Greyhound arrangements, she also analyzes their travel management reports, works closely with their accounting department to reconcile monthly air charges, plus monitors and negotiates hotel and car discounts.
